Our Mission
TruNorth Stables is Contra Costa County's premier equestrian facility focused on a quiet, welcoming environment. We strive to create a safe, comfortable and enjoyable community of equestrian lovers. With a maximum capacity of 12 horses, we cater to the horse owner seeking the small barn feel without giving up the large stable amenities. At TruNorth, you are not just a boarder, you and your horse are family, and we look forward to your visits.

Luxury Main Barn Stalls/Paddocks
Our main barn stalls (12'x12') and paddocks (16'x120'; approx. 2,000 sq ft) are one of the largest stall/paddock combinations available in Contra Costa County. Your horse will enjoy all the health benefits of pasture boarding with the comfort, safety and convenience of a private stall. Each stall is equipped with thick Canadian rubber matts and overhead lighting.
Covered Arena
Our 60'x160' (approx. 10,000 sq ft) covered arena features premium angular sand footing with compacted 5" depth base, automatic sprinkler system and excellent overhead lighting.
Round Pen
Warm-up, exercise and train your horse in our 53' round pen that is perfect for longeing.
Shell Ridge Equestrian Trails
Enjoy the beautiful scenery of nature as you ride throughout the open space trails. Shell Ridge Recreation Area is the largest parcel of open space in Walnut Creek offering 1,400 acres and 20 miles of trails. TruNorth Stables is conveniently located just a short 8-10 minute warm-up ride to the Hanna Grove trailhead, one of the many Shell Ridge trail entrances. From there, you can ride for endless hours through a vast network of secluded horse-friendly trails offering outstanding views of Mt. Diablo, Lime Ridge and all the way out to the Delta. Every trail ride you are sure to experience a new part of our beautiful natural surroundings.
Other Stable Amenities
Additional features of our stable include: (2) 12'x12' shared/locked tack rooms with plenty of saddle and tack space, (1) 12'x12' shared feed room, (2) indoor cross-ties, multiple tie areas, outdoor wash rack, instant hot water sink, and restroom.
Services Provided
Our TruNorth Stables team is proud to offer the following services: Stalls/paddocks cleaned (6) days/week (Monday- Saturday), premium pine pellet bedding, 2x/day feeding of high quality NorCal 2nd-cut orchard grass shipped directly to TruNorth from the grower's field, (75) gallon outdoor water troughs topped off and cleaned using CCWD treated water, and monthly trailer parking.
Boarding Rates
Monthly board starts at $800/month. First/last month board is due upon move-in. Refer a real estate client to Rich and receive (3) months free board! Facilities shown by appointment only.
